CAMERON HANNEKE INTERNATIONAL PRODUCTIONS (PTY) LTD - CHIP

Chip is a film and television production company that has a strong focus in the field of educational communication. The company started in 1990 and is based in Midrand, near Johannesburg, with a representative office in Cape Town. Over the past ten years Chip has produced top-rated award-winning material for television. From children’s programmes such as “Jabula”, “Look  & Say”, “Woza Nazo” that entertain younger children while also teaching general child skills to programmes like “Sibongile” that focused on TB in the home, and “Moshwela Tharing” that  focused on child abuse within a  family.

In  1992 Chip developed with Link Pharmacies one of  the very first multi-media educational programmes on television, “Link Baby Talk”, a series aimed at first-time mothers. Chip also worked hand-in-hand with the Alexandra Clinic in developing and producing the first series of “Soul City”, the  educational  health series. “52 Regent East” is a youth series that focused on young people and Aids, complimenting the long-running series “Living with Aids” produced around South Africa. The award-winning series “Kelibone” targeted youth and adults addressing issues around reconciliation.

Khanyisile, the five-year multi-media child rights series of programmes, has been developed by Chip with NGO stakeholders in the field of child abuse and neglect, as well as representation from the NPA. This project is awaiting funding, and is scheduled for broadcast in 2000.

Producers at Chip are Cameron Hogg and Hanneke  Pieterse, contactable on  011-314-2080, fax 011-314-1399, e-mail  chipmail@iafrica.com or at PO Box 2299 Halfway House, 1685.
